Departing out of Bucharest, this five-day itinerary includes three days on the bike, enjoying some of the most spectacular roads in Europe, including the Transfagarasan.
Welcome in Romania! On arrival to Bucharest you could visit to the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building in the world after Pentagon. Otherwise you can just walk in the old centre, where your hotel is located, enjoy some Romanian wine and feel the spirit of the people and the city! You will spend the night in Parliament Hotel, located in the heart of Bucharest, walking area to all the attractions Bucharest can offer.
Today you will start your journey to the Carpathian Mountains. Enjoy a great ride through the mountain with serpentines and a splendid view of Cheia Pass. Cheia Pass is one of the most famous passes in Romania but not very well known by foreigners.
On the way, you will have the chance to visit the biggest salt mine in Europe, Slanic Prahova. The huge caverns make up a total of 14 trapezoidal rooms with an extensive surface of 80 thousand square meters. Each cavern has a 10 meters tall opening, whilst the salt mine itself reaches a depth of 208 meters.
After breathing the amazing salt air (the mine is often used to rehabilitate people with respiratory issues), you will have the chance to enjoy a Romanian traditional lunch prepared for you in the heart of the mountains.
In the afternoon, you will continue your ride towards old medieval city of Brasov, walk on the narrowest street in the Europe and admire the gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture of the old buildings, as well as the wealth of historical attractions of one of the most visited places in Romania.
Perhaps start off the morning with a visit to Bran Castle, commonly known as famous Dracula’s Castle, to experience the history, the myth, the intrigue and the magic of this wonderful place of Transylvania.
You will then continue your ride towards a small citadel which has preserved in an exemplary way the features of a small medieval fortified city and it has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Just nearby is the famous Citadel Valley Cave.
Later in the day you will ride to the most spectacular road in Europe! The Transfagarasan Pass crosses the Carpathian Mountains and offers you the most amazing view in Romania.
You will ride your motorcycle in the middle of the mountains where the sky meets the peaks and of course, in the middle of them, the most beautiful lake, Balea Lake, where you can swim and relax.
You will have the chance today to ride on the Oltului Gorge, one of the most beautiful roads in Romania that takes you through the mountains and villages, and back towards Bucharest.
Depending on departure time, you may have some time to wander around the historical city centre and check out more of the sights of Bucharest, before your transfer out to the airport.
